Working in the Northern Territory

The Northern Territory and ARRCS provide a working environment like no other. From tropical Darwin to the Central Desert – with stunning landscapes, starry skies, colourful sunsets and clear air – the Territory is a truly amazing place to live and work.

Working with ARRCS is like nothing you’ve ever done before. At ARRCS, you will find a unique opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives every day. It’s your chance to help people and communities be happier and healthier, working alongside representatives of sophisticated and strongly maintained Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, learning from them and about them.

We have dedicated people across our organisation, who work with compassion and enthusiasm. Our career opportunities are many and varied, from nursing and home care assistance, to disability support, childcare and nutrition in schools. Our remote locations provide a unique and challenging experience, where you can develop multiple skills and tackle a range of clinical challenges.

What our people say

Rachel Inglis
‘You can engage with people at a deeper level. You are able to develop a bond and a relationship, which is important to me. It’s more satisfying, more meaningful’
Elizabeth O'Connor
‘The residents give back in ways that can’t be measured. I have a stronger, richer and more beautiful life because of what I do and who I do it for’

The hiring process

ARRCS is looking for motivated and committed employees who care about people and enjoy variety in their job roles and areas. To apply for an advertised role you can:

We’re an organisation where shared values and a sense of community are important, so what is in your heart and head matters just as much as formal qualifications. If you have cared for an aged relative, or small children, you may already have many of the skills we need.

Employee benefits

Beyond the personal rewards of making a difference in people’s lives, ARRCS offers a range of employee benefits including an Enterprise Agreement with great employee conditions. See more of our benefits below.

  • Flexibility

With locations across the Northern Territory, opportunities to transfer across our sites can take you from the Top End in Darwin to the remote WA/NT border community of Kaltukatjara (Docker River).

  • Salary packaging

Working for a non-profit organisation means you can ‘salary package’ many of your general living expenses and pay for them tax-free. Our CBB Rewards Club means you can also save on paying for fuel, entertainment, holidays, and thousands of retail items from a range of major outlets around Australia. Private health insurance and banking discounts are also available.

  • Wellness and lifestyle support

ARRCS provides wellness and lifestyle support through Benestar Employee Assistance Program, which offers free counselling and guidance in a range of areas, from conflict resolution to legal and financial services, as well as advice on stress, diet, health and wellbeing.

  • NT Government - Relocation incentives

The Northern Territory Government offers Welcome to the Territory incentives to boost the Territory’s population and to help employers attract and retain workers from interstate. The relocation assistance is for those people who meet the High Priority Occupation list and eligibility requirements. For a single person, this can be a $3,000 additional benefit, with more for families. Find out more at theterritory.com.au/live/register
